Hidden Thought
Medan, Day 2 - 5
Saturday, June 29, 2013
Hah! After writing the Day 1 on Medan, I basically stop writing because...
1. No internet available in the hotel at Lake Toba and Brasmagi.
2. It's really holiday, eat, sleep, enjoying the view
Day 2
-Lake Toba-
On second day, we had good breakfast buffet in the hotel. The hotel has good selection of dessert!
I love everything except for the fart that people could smoke in the aircon room in Indonesia is ridiculous!
We had this long drive road to Lake toba, about 4 hour drive starting at 11am. We passed by really small road, in order to take the short cut. It is offtrack road with no proper cement. The ride is rather bumpy and very fast and furious!! Luckily the driver is experienced. Road is really small that only can be passed by one car at one direction at a time.
We passed by nice farming area, see some cows, goats, and beautiful green rice leaves or padi around.
Also they had so many Palm oil plantation around. All those plantation are planted in such systematic row. So perfectly line up! I love looking at it...
When we reach there, weather is rather gloomy. But we had a good time sitting at the hotel which is just at the lake toba, taking picture, and do girls talk.
This picture is the photographer is amazing! My mom took it! How cool she can snap us at the right time!
Excited as we had just arrive at the Lake Toba hotel! So pretty place to be. We all feel like we are in NZ.
Day 3
- Samosir Island -
We are going to the island within the island of the lake toba, Samosir Island.
Lake Toba is so huge, that it could have island in the lake itself. And the island is quite big too. Its about 30 min by boat. Actually nothing much to see in the island, but u have to pass by this long tunnel of shopping shops. Hahaha.. of course I like.. why keep seduce me with all the pretty dress...
She is like a model of this boat! Very colourful boat with music ala Batak
Such a good weather! clear blue sky and look at Ira hair, is so windy. hmmm... feel the fresh airrrr
Like a painting that you never see enough
Day 4
- Brastagi Tempat Semalam -
We arrived at Brastagi late at night, after long road fantastic scenery. It is such a breathtaking road trip along the lake Toba, I have numerous pictures that I cannot choose which to delete. Passing by so many colourful, unique trees, from palm tree, to pineapple, to Kayu Jati, to Kolang Kaling tree, to mosquitoe repellent tree/pohon kapas. I enjoy looking at the tall trees that block the sunray in the afternoon. I enjoy the wind wave my hair and touch my cheeks..
The hotel is called Grand mutiara hotel. Although it is quite old, but it has a super cozy room with big bed and super huge bath room. Loving it. And the balcony has such a beautiful maintained garden.
We left the hotel and go to Tempat Semalam. Its a private property that open to public for viewing which cost each car to enter the place to pay for the maintainace. It is one of the hotel place where your phone signal cannot be reach. You can see the great scenary of Lake Toba from here. We are lucky as it is not much tourist of the day, we able to snap many picture around. Pretty pretty mountain, lovely valley and blue sky and sea.
Day 5
- Medan -
Our last day we didnt go anywhere much, Just hang out at the mall before leaving. We visited Ira's house that is big at the city where the gate is fully cover till the roof.
We had such a good trip with good tour guide around.
Definitely, unforgetable moment!

Journaling my life
i dont recall how my time has passed these days i had so much to write and record all the good times, bad times, deep thought, emotional feeling, sentimental days that i filled me up everyday there is time when i try so hard to remember certain things when i was young, but i couldn't recall. i don't know how i felt at that point of time i dont remember how i think or feel thus it is so important to me right now, to have the memory of recording it at least by writing although my english is not spectacular at all, as long as i can recall how i feel, it meet the purpose of my writing. Just a little recap, earlier this year, i have many goals that till to date i have not done any or making any achievement. i could write million of excuse, but whats the point, of making excuse for myself. i remember when i was in poly time, i had to write journal everyday, recap of what I have learn on that day. Maybe it was a good practice, to keep me on track, by reminding myself. Shall I start one today? My work require me to do a proposal to my manager which gets me abit nervous. Not because I was scared of her, but because I want to do a good job and giving a good option on my proposal. So I pray to God to make me less nervous to anticipate what she will say. So I opened a devotion to read, on Saving Whatever. "The wise have wealth and luxury, but fools spend whatever they get"-proverbs 21:20 Totally unrelated right?! But who can measure our God mind. I was totally forgotten about anticipating the proposal, instead suddenly my mind was filled up with how can I learn to save my saving as I have been spending whatever this days, as no burden at the moment! If I didn't write this journal today, I would not even look back, remembering of what God has done for me today. After all, He is my awesome God.
Medan, Day 1
Saturday, June 08, 2013
First time that we almost missed our flight because i slept at 2am and have to be awake by 5am. And i totally forgotten to set my alarm! Luckily my mom wake me up at 530am, and our flight is at 7.30am by silkair.
We eat curry chicken breakfast, it was yummy. Brought fruits at pasar segar, then go to ira house. Her house is 4 story height, with narrow stairs to each floor. It was a shop house as their current big house which located at the central city with huge area, is under renovated due to eaten by bugs(rayap). Sure they are quite rich, from what i heard of the parents business on coconut oil plantation, 3 oil petrol kiosks, etc..
So we went to her room and realise there branded stuff she had, like usual girl always have at least bags and shoes.. Shoes im the bedroom! I still dun understand y must keep in bed room.. Must be coz its like 1k over shoes..
We then to eat lunch at simpang tiga which is a nasi padang restaurant withnvery delicious jengkol! Lol
WhATs the highlight today is the spa!
We visited kiekie spa at Cambridge city square, a mall attached to our hotel, swissbell. It was really awesome place, we are doing hair treatment, but it comes with foot reflectologyy , massage from head to toe, and hot stone massage also. I think they also v generous in using the product, there is like 6 time when they first wash my hair. The room was filled with lemon grass smells and the softy puffy chair amd ambience is so relaxing. I was super tired at the period with lack of rest for the whole week and such a great place to sleep. We paid bout Rp 350,000 for the whole2.30 hr treatment. Im delightful.. And much fresher!
Oh the salon itself is so popular, it has more than 20 sits, but they are all occupied! All those ladies are doing their hair even when there is no event! Even just to hang out on weekend! All people in medan is carrying branded bag almost everywhere.. It is just something, unusual to look at as we do not have such culture in batam. Rich people im Batam dont dress up in Batam, they did it once the travel oversea.
We went to the sun plaza mall which consider one of the most popular one in medan, but it is not impressive.no wonder many medan people come to spore and crazily shopping their money. Oh the nelayan restaurant concept is really interesting. They are popular for the halal dim sum in medan. Thus it is always so crowded.
We had dinner at QQ,.. And the kedondong juice is superb!!
Good night..time for early bed for first day of holiday.
Both my sis n mom already slept.
